El Hazard: The Magnificent Sequel Chapter Two Mountain Fuji is a national landmark about 50 miles from Tokyo. Palnus Relrye woke up by the lower slopes of Mountain Fuji. Afura Mann who was still unconscious was lying a short distance away.... *A thin cool breeze* Afura Mann's eyes blinked open. *It feels like we're high up* Afura thought lazily. *OH wait....we are high up....the eye of god...Wait a second* Trees, rocks, shrubs, grass...a mountain?* "Trees, I've never seen trees like this before,"she whispered . There are no trees on the Eye of God. Wanting to get up but completely exhausted, Afura continued to lay there, and quietly pondered what was going on. *I must be dead* She decided finally. *Well there was a big flash of light, no tunnel, but hey I don't mind. I'm dead. I wonder if they'll miss me* Afura sat up slowly and shook her head. *No feeling of disembodiment, not what I expected at all, I wonder if there's a library around here...* Afura looked to her left and saw Palnus looking off in the distance. *Nooooo! This can't be heaven!! I must be in hell!!! Why me, check that, WHY HIM?? I knew I should have given more to charities! Okay now you're acting weird. Okay...breathe, rational thought* Afura laid down again. "Just where are we anyway?" Palnus had rubbed his eyes to make sure he was seeing things straight. "Where the heck am I?"he wondered. One of the last things he was able to remember was travelling to the Eye of God with his annoying sister, Alielle. Now he was lost in a completely alien environment. Palnus looked off into the distance to realize that he was on the slopes of some mountain. He stood there for a minute or two, taking in the sensation of the surroundings of this new land. Palnus turned to hear someone groaning behind him. Why, it was Afura Mann! "Afura, I didn't know that you made it here as well! I thought I was all alone! Hey, don't look at me like that, we're on a beautiful mountain. Why, it's sort of romantic up here, don't you think?" Afura blinked and the expression on her face seemed to tell him that she wasn't pleased to have him for company. ********************* After the crazy turn of events that happened atop the Eye of God, Katsuhiko Jinnai awoke to find himself in some sort of abandoned mine. Looking around, he saw what was left of his Bugrom army standing about 10 feet away. "Hmmm...I wonder where Groucho is and Diva? Maybe they are outside somewhere." Walking a short distance, Jinnai looked around and couldn't believe his eyes. "Wait a second, I'm back in Japan. The others must be here as well. Everyone who was on top of the Eye of God. I need to think of something...something really quick." ************************************** Tokyo Disneyland was a major tourist attraction. Even at night, there were many people around. Alielle Relrye woke up and saw a lot of people everywhere. She looked carefully and in the distance, she saw Nanami Jinnai and Kauru Taurus walking farther and farther away. They apparently hadn't noticed her. "Wait!" However, they had already disappeared, swallowed by the sea of people....... ********************************** Shinjuku! The place to be! Miz was looking bewildered and was hanging on to the arm of her husband, Masamichi Fujisawa who apprently liked the surroundings. "Masamichi! Stop staring at those posters! What's the matter--aren't I good enough for you?" she dragged him away from the striptease posters, which he wasn't really looking at anyway, and attempted to steer him to safety. Red latterns bobbed in front of little traditionally shuttered shops, and these she avoided too. "The people coming out of here are drunk! Masamichi! You're not going in there! We have to find the others!" Teenagers in bright jackets kept trying to offer her packets of tissue, but Miz kept pushing them away. "I don't need any! I don't have a cold! Leave us alone!" At last she managed to pull him into an open square where the neon lights blazed down from tall skyscrapers and loudspeakers boomed out advertisements. On the ALTA building behind them, a giant television blared and flickered, hypnotizing the crowd below. Miz sighed. "Oh Masamichi, I've never seen so many people! How are we ever going to find the others?" She turned and saw that he wasn't paying attention to her. There was a beer commercial on the big TV screen..... ************************ Anime is big business in Japan. Just ask the thousands of fans who have now thronged the Anime Convention Hall in Tokyo. A Bugrom named Groucho was shaking his head after waking up in the gardens outside the Anime Convention. A group of fans dressed as characters from 'Moldiver' walked past him and remarked,"That's a strange costume. Wonder which anime he's from?" Groucho could hardly believe his eyes. Where was he? Was he dead? Was he at the point where several dimensions had collided? People of all kinds were around him. Some of them seemed more or less human. He saw several boys wearing uniforms similar to those Jinnai usually would wear. A lot of people were talking and staring at him. Surprisingly, he understood what they were saying..... ******************************* A short distance in the suburbs of Tokyo stood an old but decent Shinto shrine. Sweep. Sweep. Sweep. Sweep. Shayla Shayla woke up to see an old Shinto Priestess sweep the floor beside her... ******************************* Yokohama harbor is the busy port of Tokyo. There are usually a lot of ships which carry on a lot of import-export business. A mysterious hooded figure, Kalia and several Phantom Tribesmen suddenly appear in a burst of light. The hooded figure looked around Yokohama harbor. He was tall and he removed his hood to reveal a handsome face that seemed to have a strange touch of evil. He was the half-brother of Galus. His mother was a powerful sorceress and he had inherited his skills from her. Since young, he had always looked up to Galus, whom he believed would liberate the Phantom Tribe from the oppressive Roshtarians and the menacing Bugrom. He hated the Three Priestesses for killing Kiriya, whom he was engaged to marry, at the Hot Springs. He hated Katsuhiko Jinnai for foiling Galus' plans at the Eye of God and he hated Nanami and Makoto for the same reasons. He also hated the demon goddess, Ifurita, for firing the lethal blow to Galus. The day before, he had a major argument with Nahato as to what they plans should be. He admired Nahato's ambitions but thought Nahato was 'too soft' in his approach. Kalia said,"You realize that we are no longer in El Hazard?" He replied, "I sense that the people we are looking for are in this world. Very soon, we will find them and when I find them, I will...." Kalia interrupted. "Seems like the humans in this world are weak. They have no special powers." "We could be very powerful with no one to oppose us," he smirked. (Author's notes: Remember when the 4 Earthlings crossed dimensions to El Hazard, they were able to speak and understand the El Hazardian languages so I thought it would make sense for the El Hazardians to acquire the ability to speak and understand Earth languages when they crossed the dimension.) Ifurita and Makoto were walking together in a park in the outskirts of Tokyo. It had been a pleasant day and a nice breeze was blowing. It seemed like nothing could go wrong today. A strange light appeared in front of them. Ifurita blinked in surprise. Makoto was even more surprised when a cat ran towards him. "Ura! But how?" A short distance away was Diva who was craddling her baby. She seemed astounded. She looked around in disbelief. A moment earlier, she had been on the Eye of God, but now she stood in some strange world. Lord Jinnai was nowhere to be seen, nor the Bugrom warriors, not even the Roshtarians who had been following her. She was surprised to see Makoto and Ifurita. It was all too much. Diva took a step back fearing for her sanity. Then she realized something that brought her hope back. She could understand what Makoto was saying! Yes, Mizuhara's words were as clear as the demon goddess' now! Diva stood up straight, and chanced that he could understand her. "Makoto Mizuhara! What trick have you used to bring us here, and what have you done with my Lord Jinnai? I, Diva, Queen of the Bugrom Empire, demand an answer!" Ura crawled towards Diva. "Diva afraid. Diva no need to be afraid. Makoto take care of everyone. Nyaaa!" Ifurita walked towards Diva and said,"I remember you. You were with Katsuhiko Jinnai, right?" Diva stared at Ifurita and the others as the soft hum from the insects in the surroundings soothed her like a lullaby. The great cat was rubbing up against her leg, purring. She wanted to believe them. She was tired of running. And their faces were so kind. She felt very tired though and her legs began to give way under the weight of her own body.... Makoto had to carry Diva to his car while Ifurita cradled. While driving, Ifurita decided that she would let Diva and her daughter stay at her apartment for the time being while Makoto would take care of Ura in his apartment... Diva was recovering in the sofa of Ifurita's living room. Ifurita was pouring some tea for her. Diva sighed and reached for one of the white roses in a vase by the open window. A gift from Makoto, Ifurita said. The flowers symbolized purity. So many flowers and hidden meanings, thought Diva. Do any of them symbolize hope? As she lifted a rose to catch its fragrance, she heard a soft, whispering voice. "Why have you left the hive, my Mother?" She blinked and drew back. Instinctively, she looked at Inari, but the baby was still cooing happily on the floor. Besides, Inari's mind was not developed enough for thought transfer. Diva shook her head. It had been a bitter blow to discover that her mental link with the Bugrom had vanished since coming to this world--but what was that voice? "Your scent is stonger than ever, my Mother. Stronger than the scent of this rose. What has happened?" Then she looked down at the rose, and into the shimmery, compound eyes of a honeybee. Diva's heart beat faster. She knew these creatures on El Hazard but could not speak to them. Yet here, somehow, there was a link, and a strong one at that. Diva took a deep breathe and martialled her thoughts. "I seek those who have strayed from the hive,"she answered silently. "I need you to find them." "Whom would you have me seek, my Mother?" "Others like us, very large, who walk upon the ground, and a human male who is with them. They must be found, for the sake of the hive." The bee's answer came, soft as falling petals. "I will tell my brothers and sisters. I go." And it buzzed out of the window.
